The Deep is in East Yorkshire, located 15 minutes’ walk away from Hull City Centre. The Deep is home to a vibrant marine life of over 1000 species that includes approximately 6,500 fish, amphibians and insects. The aquarium’s 10 meter deep water tank is comprised of 87 tonnes of salt and 2.5 million litres of water with reinforced glass viewing domes. The deep has a spectacular tropical lagoon with an underwater reef that houses the most colorful set of ocean dwellers.
The aquarium lets its visitors educate themselves on and explore over 4 billion years old ocean history, underwater species of Amazon rainforest, successful marine reservation projects, life cycles of deep ocean jelly fish, animals living in endangered habitats in some of the major rivers of the world.
The Deep boasts in housing the deepest underwater viewing tunnel in Europe in where you can sit and have a calming experience while enjoying amazing fish glide over your head. Last but not least is the walk through the so called ‘kingdom of ice’ where many-a-children young and old can get a feel of being surrounded by walls of thick white ice.
The Deep reveals it final trick hidden in its famous glass lift that will take you up through the 10 meter tank where you will be able to glance at a panoramic view of the tank.
