Went to this restaurant when it first opened and it was fantastic top food,cocktails and service. posted: Jun 28 2008, 11:42I went last night for a leavin do on which there was 15 of us.The service was appauling i waited 10 mins at the bar to get served and we had to shout the waiter over to order our meal.It seemed as if there was very little organsation from the waiting staff.It wasnt even busy so you couldnt blame a mad rush on anything!!.
When the food came the nachos were ok but my main meal was a chicken chaimmchanga (cant spell) it was like a chicken pastry from cooplands for 11 quid!!.It was burnt at the edges.
When the bill came there was a service charge of 20 quid we refused to pay due to the bad service and poor food.
Its such a shame because at the beginning this restaurant was lively and a lovely place to eat,last night was awful to which i dont think i will return quickly!!.

I tried this place out when it first opened and it was gorgeous, great atmosphere, the staff were great, the food was great and my bf and i even got 50% knocked off the bill which was an added bonus! posted: Apr 8 2008, 12:16I got the mozzerella sticks with chilli jam which were gorge and then some veggie burito thing which was nice but I couldnt eat it all because there was so much.
Being impressed the first time round we went again a month later.
We were seated on high stools next to the toilets and freezing air con which was extreamely uncomfortable.
I ordered a wrap this time round, which had doubled in price because it was after lunch, it was soggy, falling out all over my plate and the waiter didnt even bring me the chips that your supposed to get with it until i collared him and demanded them!
I ordered a corona too which cost a fortune.
My meal wasnt nice, i wasnt comfortable and wed paid way too much for it
we didnt leave a tip this time round and i havent been since, its unfortunate when your opinion of somewhere is totally changed just through 1 bad experience but im sure Ill give Mex another chance.
If you go Id reccomed going early and getting your 50% off, getting the fahjitas (you get alot more for your money and theyre really nice) and NOT sitting on one of the high stooled tables, theyre really wobbly, Stick to my advice and youll love mex!
oh and get the mozzerella sticks with chilli jam, theyre always nice!!! MMmm, could do with some of those right now!
