People who work for the same company dont have to Q at piper, its a perk, most jobs have them. So its not the bouncers being twats, they have to let them in, cos its compant policy, and would you Q if you dint have to? Sorry to sound all uppety lol, just seen a lot of people raggin on teh bouncers cos of this, but its not there fault. Tis all.

Ive just come back to Hull after being away for 15 years, and had to go out alone (yes, sad, I know, but all my buddies are boring oldsters). Went to the Piper, as its close by and Id heard good things. Good crowd, friendly staff, and a good vibe, made some friends and had a good night. Not really my kind of music on a Friday, but will definately go back tonight (Sat), cos I love a spin round the floor. Ya, the queue looked rough, and it gets a little rammed, but you dont want to go to an empty club, do ya.

Me and a mate went to Piper last friday, and it is a quality place to go. Only problem is the bouncers. Claiming to be 1in1out, yet after queuing up at 11.15 for 45 minutes we got inside and is was quiet (well, ive seen it busier at that time before!) The bouncers say they aint a guestlist, but there is - for all there mates or people who get stuck up there fat arses to jump the q!! its just a shame they aint many other places to go on Fridays!!

Im a barman in the old town and we love to go to piper on a friday after work, but got proper pi***d off friday. We got to piper about midnight after paying £4 for a taxi, we had to que for 45 minutes after watching people either push in the que or walk straight inside. This was after we were told that there is no guest list, & for this experience it cost £5. Finally we were inside, just one problem, SERVICE!!!! or lack of. I finally got served at 1.15am, nice and cheap, however I think I would rather of paid over the odds just to get served, not the barstaffs fault, understaffed does not cover it. So 1 hour 15 minutes later, £11 lighter I now have 45 minutes to enjoy my pint and the rest of night, I love watching Prya play, but not that much. So as the cold winter nights close in I think I will be giving Piper a wide birth and just go see Prya at Yo-Yo instead.
Sorry Piper but I dont know how youve stayed busy for so long.

Went last night, good night, good music, but the queue was stupidly big, bouncers didnt have a clue how to run it, why do they make you stand outside when they are clearly going to let you in!! Great club but wouldnt go again just for that reason, Sort it out Piper!

Over the past 5 years both as a student working at The Gardeners Arms and as a full time worker elsewhere since, ive always found The Piper to be the solution to many a problem....

Where should we go tonight?
Wheres cheap?
Where serves food?
Wheres there gonna be student and non-student mix?
Where has indie/dance/funky/hiphop/old school/rock music tonight?
Where can we go pretty much any/every night of the week?
Wheres close and easy to get to and from?
Wheres gonna have pool tables?

All this and the door staff and bar staff have always been friendly helpful and a good laugh while both working and on their breaks. Ive always used the guide, that if the staff go to their place of work on their nights off, it must be a great place to be....
