Lunch at Springbank Tavern…
Food served 12pm-7pm Monday to Saturday.
A few of the Hullvibe team nipped in for a spot of lunch and here’s what we thought;
Tuna nicoise salad £6.50
The salad was presented beautifully and looked very appetising. The tuna was fresh and not out of a tin, which is just what I wanted. The salad leaves were huge dinosaur leaves but very nice and lots of different varieties, which is always better than your standard iceberg. The egg that came along with the salad was perfectly cooked and the anchovies and croutons were a great addition. The only thing missing was a dressing but it hardly mattered and the dish was yum! Would definitely go back to again as I want to try what everyone else had. Good location, good service, great value for money. 9/10
Homemade Fishfinger sandwich £3.50
When I ordered my fish finger sandwich I just expected a greasy little buttie on a side plate. However, when my food arrived it was really well presented. I had a nice little salad on the side, but not too much, and the fish fingers were homemade and tasted gorgeous. I’d give it 10/10. The portion size was really good too, as I was full, but not absolutely stuffed. All in all I loved it, definitely going back.
Chicken and Bacon Club sandwich £4.00
My Chicken and Bacon Club sandwich was very tasty.
My first thoughts was that is looked amazing. The presentation was very impressive
from the touch of salad on the side of the plate, to the freshly uncut bread which the filling was placed in.

The proportion was very generous, making it a challenge to eat, but I can assure you, that didn't stop me.
The chicken was cooked to perfection, making it, in my opinion "The Best Club Sarny" I have had in a while.
Marks out of 10: 9/10, thumbs up to the chef!
Ploughmans Sandwich £3.50
Being a picky vegetarian I tend to have a cheese sandwich most days for lunch. There’s not one week goes by that I don’t have a cheese sandwich, that may sound a little boring to most folks but I just can’t get enough of the stuff so I think it’s safe to call myself a bit of a cheese sandwich connoisseur.
My Ploughmans came on thick doorstep bread smeared in real ale chutney with slices
of apple inbetween, yes, apple in a sandwich! This was something I’d never witnessed in a cheese sandwich before, so a little bewildered I ate the apple separately with chunks of cheese, a real good treat. The Sandwich itself was made for that of a giant and I must have looked like some sort of sloppy Joe as I rammed it into my watering mouth as fast as I could without tearing the crusts. Delicious, and with an extra helping of Chutney on the side perfect for smearing on the side portion of bread and butter that was already on the table as we arrived.

I’ve had many a cheese sandwich in my time but this has to be up there with some of the very best. 9/10
Home-Smoked Chicken Breast with wild Mushroom Risotto £7.95
