I
d heard a lot of good reports about The Ranch, so when one of my friends decided that was where he wanted to go for his birthday I was the first to reply with a big fat YES! We’d booked a table for 9 and due to the fact we had a large party going, they asked us to pay a deposit of £5 per head...this we were not too keen on but we went along with it anyway and just hoped that no one pulled out.
As it turned out there ended up being 10 of us all together so our deposits where safe....however our elbows weren’t so lucky as the table we were sat at only really seated 8 so it was all a bit cosy, but all was forgotten when the waitress brought us free our Bruschetta’s! None of us had been to the restaurant before so we had to double check with the waitress that they were free before we delved in...and to our delight, they were!!
The menu had far more than I had expected, I thought The Ranch was only a burger bar, but oh no, not only do they do burgers, they do pizzas, pastas, steaks and salads! Obviously none of us went for the salad but I have no doubt in saying they would be as delicious as the rest of the menu. There is a large range of burgers to choose from, English, American, French, Mexican etc etc all with a different topping, and you can choose between 100% Aberdeen Angus beef, 100% chicken breast, and for the veggies among us, a veggie burger. There is also a wide range of pizza’s, pasta’s and steaks, and all at very reasonable prices.
We decided to go for a starter, it was a special occasion after all, and after a lot of deliberation we went for the cheesy garlic bread. We waited about 15minutes before the starters arrived, which for a busy Saturday night was very reasonable, and we weren’t disappointed! For £3.25 we had expected the garlic bread to be a few slices of crusty bread with garlic butter, but oh no, the garlic breads that arrived were (I think) 10” and smothered in garlic butter and melted cheese....and were absolutely YUMMY!!
After we’d scoffed our starters, we weren’t waiting long for the waitresses to clear our table and before long our main courses had arrived. Between us all we’d ordered burgers, pastas and pizzas, I had opted for the Lasagne, but everyone’s food looked amazing....especially the burgers! Don’t get me wrong my lasagne was delicious and those who had the pizzas certainly weren’t complaining, but the burgers looked blooming fantastic!! For between £6-8 the burgers were mahoooosive and came with salad leaves and a good sized portion of chips!! They looked amazing and from what I was told, they tasted amazing as well!
All in all everyone enjoyed their food, the service was brilliant and the bill was very reasonable....the only thing that I would pick them up on was the fact that they don’t give mints with the bill, because after all that garlic, we definitely needed it!! :o)
Beverley might not have a McDonalds or a Burger King, but this is definitely a burger bar Beverley does have, and a good one at that!! Highly recommended!! :o)
