The biggest band on the Hull scene right now! They put more effort in then any other band, that could be why there so big right now, or it could be the quality of music, or the electric live shows or it just could be cause there really decent guys. either way all the best lads!
If anyone deserves to make it to the big time, then its these guys. Ive never known anyone to have such motivation and drive, not to mention a great sound.
Theyre a little different, which in a time when everyones starting to sound the same, is a great relief.
Absolutely fantastic!

Hey Everyone
The Cliques are without a doubt the most consistantly good band in Hull at the moment, yeah you might not theyre your cup of tea, but more and more new faces appear at their gigs each week.
If youre looking for a band that will draw you in with strong indie punk riffs complimented by catchy vocals these are the guys.
The popularity of the band on and off the stage is hugely increasing, no one deserves to win this MP3 Chart more then them, they have gained so many votes in so little time, this shows a well supported band.
Check their myspace for their up and coming gigs! You will love them, even I didnt know who they were at one point.
Cheers Fozz

Well we all know January is not really the best time of the year!!
Yeah we have new year and we have just had christmas.. But it dull and cold!
Plus it normally mean no money!! Which we all know sucks!!
But there again theres a few parties you cant stop yourself from going to!
lucky enough i got invited to one end of january time!!
Not knowing what the party was going to entail, but to my suprise The Cliques where playing, Absoutly fantasic performance! Its the first time i have seen them!! They where immense.. The band are totally original and fresh! Awesome sound and fanstic vocials!! Isnt about time a local band got recognition for there talent and all the work they put in to give the people entertainment! But its not just entertainment these guys give you!
There not just a band that are working there backsides off just to get somewhere and dont really care about your support!! Far from it... The guys are easy to get along with and a right laugh!! They get off the stage and yeah expect you to have a drink, a chat and a laugh with them!! Carry on the party after all they are human just like me and you!!
These guys
Simon - frontman
Sam - Bass
James - Drums.
Generally deserve to get to where they want to be, they promote and try and play any gig big or small... Just shows how dedicated to the work they are!!
Check out there myspace!! These guys are hot!!
Also heard the gig at Dorchester hotel was awesome last night!!

Ok so maybe you were still recovering after a bank holiday weekend of boozing it up round the clubs or like me you spent the past 4 days camping in a field getting sh*t faced and not washing
. But it was Tuesday, ‘Sesh day’, to me and thee, so a weekend on the razzle wasn’t going to stop me going to catch what was going down over at the Linnet & Lark
I got there at about half 8 and it was suspisiosly emptier than usual, but i blamed that on the fact that i dont usually get there till later on and also it was still light. Maybe the mid-week music movers didnt come out until the sun went in.
Anyhoo, I liked it this way, i could easily get to the bar and you didnt get a heat wave of bodies and other peoples farts on opening the door after you’d nipped outside for a fag.
This week the line up looked good, Dance Bastards (who i’d heard a few tracks from Maks Sesh album), Fifty Nine Violets (always a pleasure) and new comers The Cliques, new to The Sesh and it’s always good to keep on top of whats new.
The Cliques were first on at about 9ish. The Linnet have a very particular crowd on a Tuesday who know what they like and if your going to be accepted by this crowd on your first appearance i’m not sure that burping into the microphone on your first song is gonna tip it. Come boys, where’s your manners? Despite this i was rather fond of their whine.
Lead singer Simon insisted on getting half naked 2 songs in but did give his performce alot of welly and cocky character (although clearly from ‘Ull?!) although he was being egged on to strip further by a few mates in the audience so maybe it was a case of ‘impress the big boys at school-itus’. Thank my lucky stars it didn’t go any further. Well resisted Simon, maybe after a few moer gigs eh?! On the other side, bassist Sam stood content like he was playing in his front living room. I found the contrast of the two quite amusing. The show went on.
I whizzed my head around to check out the crowds reaction and a fair few where giving the old toe tap and Mak seemed happy with their performance so i’d say their first appearance at The Sesh went down like treacle.
These guys are clearly trying to get themselves noticed in the Hull scene due to the amount of myspace bulletins and Homemade flyers floating around every pub, bar and bog so i’d tell you to give them a chance. They’ve got the shell of a decent local indie band washed with a pair of 3day old socks and attitude of an Orchard Parker (no offence) But aint that what a Hull band should be like? I’d say keep at it. I got a tickle when Frontman Simon got pushed over by Bassist Sam at the end, just due to the fact that it was obvious that Simon was the cocky one. HA!
I was particularly a fan of that song with the long drum intro, What was that one called again boys? Oh and i liked the last one too....and not just because it was the last one
Catch them when you can,
Lucy
