I had always been put off by this place's appearence. However i went last wednesday for an acoustic night and there was a really nice atmosphere. The staff were all extremely friendly, the drinks reasonably priced and the acts on this particular night were well worth the small entry fee of a pound.

Initially only going to support a friend's band, I was taken aback and very impressed with the 4 bands playing at the Tiger's lair last Thursday, the bands I remember the names of were 'Lips Akimbo', 'Vinny & the Stars' and 'The Buccaneers'.

All 4 bands were excellent and involved a mixture of blues, slide guitar (a clever and original piece of microphone use), rock, ska, punk and even- for those of you out there who know who they are- a subtle mix of 'Sublime' style to the evening.

Needless to say i will be keeping my eye on the future gigs of these Leed and York based bands and also be trying to get down to the Tiger's lair more often seen as they're hosting gigs every Thurs now apparently...

not really were i would wanna go but ric owen is good on a sunday night!!

dont no bout living there but i watched an oasis cover band there good atmosphere

city til i die! this is the best pub in the whole entire world i want to live there
