Firstly to echo Wayne, Benny you are more than welcome to come down to Ringside. Its only your business dealings weve banned. As stated before, we had an agreement with Live when we took on the gigs that you would NOT be involved due to past disagreements. This was agreed by Live and as a consequence of breaking this agreement the gigs were cancelled.

We tried to get someone down from Live to arrange gig contracts (as weve done with other new promoters in the past) but for some reason noone ever agreed to it and got rather shirty when we asked why???

I really couldnt give a f*** if we make any money on the bar at gigs, Ringside is known for bands and I want it to stay that way. Im not ruining our reputation with a whole load of bands simply because gigs usually cost us to put on.

As regards the toilet issue, yes it is true that some dimwit managed to knacker the urinal pipework in the mens toilet at Sinyins gig. They only managed to pull the pipework off the wall (which has happened before) and as it was on a weekend we had to order the pipework in from a friend and couldnt get it fitted in time. We didnt want to leave them open and have more damage done by disgruntled customers or bands or cause anyone any danger from loose materials.

As for me contacting the bands, I am well within my rights to do so. We stated the situation and told them that they are still welcome to play IF THEY CHOOSE. Some bands have decided not to and we wholely support their choice. I think theyd be more pissed off if they got to Hull and found they couldnt play! If Live manages to get another venue sorted to carry on these gigs then I applaud it and would hope fans still go to the gigs.

Again as Wayne has already stated, I cannot make business decisions on my own as I work as part of a partnership. We have been discussing this situation for a few weeks now and have done a lot of research into the pros and cons. I appreciate people will think its a personal issue (ho hum) but as Ive said, this business is part of a partnership, I just dont like people who Ive asked not to work here trying to hide behind a different name.

We made it clear to Live Booking when you booked gigs at Ringside that we wanted nothing to do with Benny Jenner as his name spells disaster in regards to gigs! Mention Benny Jenner and people instantly think of the car crash that was Horrorfest.

We dont want our business associating with a promoter who hides behind a multitude of aliases, doesnt pay bands and claims to bands to have slept with most of my staff including myself (we have proof of all of these in case youre thinking of the legal implications of my words).

Learn to run a business, show respect to bands, fans and venues before you consider booking any more gigs in Hull, Benny.
