Imagine a world where every member of the female population has an affliction akin to that of Linda Lovelace and that all men are sensitive, caring, sexual Tyrannosaurs - unfortunately such a world does not currently exist but take heart because the world of The Cherry Cobb Cartel is VERY real indeed. If you’re sick to the back teeth of boring, average and uninspiring bands; have had it 'up to here' with the same old guff on your wireless week in, week out then despair no more. The Cherry Cobb Cartel are an act that will astound your ears, confound the mind, rip your soul clean off and corkscrew your eyeballs right out of your head... and in no way is that a bad thing.
It all started in year 2007 BC (Before Cobb) when four amiable fellows got together to create something for greater good of mankind. Since that sacred day The Cherry Cobb Cartel have done everything possible to play interesting, innovative and most importantly catchy songs that attempt to capture the feeling of living in a nowhere city with very few musical outlets, without being you-know... depressing. We won't bore you with a lazy description of they sound like 'enter band of the moment here' meets 'enter cool 60s underground band here' type of blurb because it'd be nonsense and not at all helpful. TCCC don't sound like anyone directly but obviously draw on varied musical influences including Love, Django Reinhardt, The Doors, Larrikin Love, Captain Beefheart, Dick Dale, The Cramps, 80s Matchbox, Velvet Underground and so on.
They are only 14 gigs in (with their current line up) and have so far had the pleasure of supporting The Futureheads, Six Nation State, Vincent Vincent and the Villains, Lupen Crook and Shiny Toy Guns. Not to mention such a live display supporting Glasvegas that it had the Scottish rockers reaching frantically for their bottles of Buckfast while trying not to sh*t their wee pants. The Cobb were simply outstanding that night.
Currently spending most of their time and money on playing in
