Best Bar None Awards ...

Last night after recovering from the 1st Birthday party the night before, washing out 3 tons of hairspray and scraping pink eye shadow off my face with a shovel we we're invited to come along to the 'Best Bar none' Awards.

I'd planned to have a usual Sunday of sitting in bed in my jamas, eating noodles and watching the Hollyoaks omnibus.

It was pushing around 5pm and i was still in bed (watching Simpsons this time) When Fay gave me a call to say that Pozition had kindly invited us Hullvibe Ladies to they best bar none Awards.

BRILLIANT! I leapt out of bed in excitement when I remembered ‘Oh crap, what am I supposed to wear’? This was a Black Tie Do and I don’t think my usual skin of the ‘Ye Olde Hullvibe T-Shirt-e’ would quite be appropriate in this circumstance.

They say you cant polish a turd but I had just over an hour to try me best. If only I had a fairy Godmother….anyhoo I threw on the best black dress I could find, spent 45minutes complaining about how I hated it and jumped in Fays car to the KC.

We were welcomed by a few familiar faces who I recognised from various venues, all looking very dapper. There was free champagne on arrival, which always goes down a treat and after a while we were seated.

The event was hosted by Viking FMs Mark Summers and had something to do with Hull city safe and I’m guessing Carling C2 as there was free beer on the table but didn’t really get much of a mention apart from that. We were a little shocked that some big independent clubs in the city didn't even get a mention. I thought Pozition and Welly would have definately got a tinkle!
