Thursdays @ The Sugarmill…

After hearing that Thursday nights at The Sugarmill were labelled as 'Officially Hull's Biggest & Busiest Thursday Night Clubbing Experience' I decided to check that out for myself.

I walked in at around 11.15pm and dying for the loo, that was my first pitstop. Like it is to any girl, the toilets are always the first place you visit to double check your hair hasn’t gone bamf or your lipsticks managed to find its way all across your face in between travelling from the taxi to the front door.

You never know, these things could happen. And you want to look your best when you first walk in (couldn’t think twice about it on your way out!)

Toilets always play a huge role in whether you’re going to enjoy a place or not. Fact, and these hit top marks for hair doing, lipstick applying and hand washing. Plenty of mirrors, plenty of loo roll and i didnt find myself holding the toilet door closed with one of my feet. Tick!

After I’d finished fannying about it was time to face the music. I was welcomed by a room full of smiley faces all up for being spotted! Brilliant!

After I’d snapped a few on camera I toddled over to the bar to see what IT had to offer, and within literally 1.2 seconds I’d been served by a friendly bar lady, drink in hand. Brilliant! Tick!

I was in the Main room (Room 1 I think they call it) the one with the HUGE screen on the dance floor, which I though was fascinating. Put any punter in front of a load of bright lights and they’ll be like a moth to a light bulb, staring in awe! There’s no other place in Hull with such a display of funk splashed across the dance floor wall. Definitely a display to make you move!

The music in this room on a Thursday was great. I’m well into my Indie but there’s nothing like a bit of dance and usually you don’t get these 2 genres clashing on the same night.

From Kaiser Chiefs to Justin Timberlake mixed into Fedde Le Grand! what a mix! and I loved it!

Upstairs is the RnB room, being a Hullvibe moocher of the City Clubs, I get round quite a few of these nights and I can honestly say that the sound system was far better than any I’d heard at any other RnB nights. So if you fancy yourself as a JT look-a-like or got the moves of Beyonce, you’ll love getting your freak on in this Rnb Blasting, funky light moving room.

I Think that The Sugarmill is a great venue, it’s huge! Perfect if your trying to ditch a guy that wont leave you alone! And if your like me and regularly suffer from ‘Damn I’ve worn the wrong heels again-itus’ there’s plenty of places to chill out and have a drink if you need to rest your party feet.

It’s definitely Hull’s biggest clubbing experience but on this occasion it’s wasn’t 100% at it’s busiest.

Then again that’s just how I like it, that way you don’t get people knocking your drinks over, budging past, and pushing in at the bar queue…that’s just rude! You can enjoy your night with no beef.

It gets my vote J
