GRAND OPENING PARTY SATURDAY 15TH DECEMBER

Well it seems like it's taken forever but we can finally reveal a date for the official grand opening of the Welly club's new terrace and extended second room - Saturday 15th December 2007.

I'll give you a little tour of the improvements as an little appetiser, starting with the outside terrace we have had a team of builders and designers working flat out to produce a sleek, attractive and more importantly warm and comfortable place for smokers and their friends to go. It's surrounded by fencing and trees in order to keep out those infamous North Sea winds throughout the winter months. The terrace has superb block paving and giant canopies with heaters to keep everyone warm and dry too. This outdoor lounge is finished off with stylish contemporary granite tables and aluminium chairs. Without a doubt this will be Hull's most luxurious, and probably the biggest outside smoking terrace.

On top of this we have given the front of the club a facelift by rendering the extension to front of the Welly club and painting the entire club white that will be floodlit on an evening to help create a fantastic atmosphere.

Leading you inside the venue and into what used to be our small back room, but is now a fabulous room complete with a huge dance floor. To complete this transformation we have taken a large wall out, moved the bar, moved the Dj box and extended this room out to the front of the building thus trebling the size of the dance floor and making this a great space to dance, drink and socialise in. In addition to this the real icing on the cake will be the installation of a spanking new Funktion 1 sound system, reputed to be the best in the World!

The rest of the club has been restyled with top to toe painting, sumptuous new decor and elegant finishing touches.

Entertaining us on the Grand Opening will be the stunning Hed Kandi artists The Lovely Laura playing live Saxophone and Pav on percussion. This will be one of Laura's last club dates before she goes on an arena tour supporting the mighty Take That. Pav needs little introduction as he's one of the World's leading percussionists with residencies for Manumission, Radio one and of course for the super sexy Hed Kandi.

Dj's in the ballroom are Darren M resident at top Leeds club night Speedqueen and Hull's finest Danny Hird, you can also expect all those little extras for which Deja vu is renowned and which ensure that everyone has a night to remember including the fantastic Deja vu dancers, Laser show, pyro technics, confetti & glitter canons, LED lighting and much much more!

Opening our new second room and rocking that word class Funktion 1 sound system we have Andrew Grant jetting in from Ibiza for an exclusive Uk gig. Andrew's a resident Dj at Ibiza most talked about underground club Circo Loco @ DC10 supporting him we have Hull's champions of all things underground Different Language and the Work Dj's.

Room 3 plays host to Dot Dot Dash the Electronic Indie night playing the likes of Hot Chip, Lcd Sound System and The Klaxons.

This will undoubtedly be fantastic evening that will further cement the Welly club's reputation as the City's leading cutting edge music venue and Deja vu's as the City's flagship night!
