Hullvibes Gig Guide

 

Are you one of those that hears about a great gig after it’s already happened? Well put that to a stop right now as Hullvibe give you an online gig guide of events that you should be attending across Hull.

 

 

When: Monday 5th May

Who: The Sorry Loves, Farino, Rainboy, Shaun Chance, Arthur Nutley, Man Made Noise, Alex Larkman, Andy Cornfoot, Ellerker, GST Cardinals, Someone and the Somethings, The Steer & The Cliques

Where: Purpleworm Record Launch Party at The Welly Club, Beverley Road

 

 

Why: With such a huge line up of local greatness you dont need much more of a reason to attend this one. Its cheap at a price of just £3 to be entertained from 7pm till late on by some of Hulls finest local talent as the Hull based label Purple Worm Records launches their 2nd Album.

 

How to Get Tickets: Pay your £3 on the door which even includes £1 donation to action aid.

Who: The Brunettes

Where: YoYo at The Piper Club, Newland Avenue

 

 

Why: The Brunettes are an Indie Pop group from New Zealand formed in 1998. The band consists of core members Jonathan Bree and Heather Mansfield. Think Belle and Sebastian from down under! They are signed to American label who signed Nirvana, Sub Pop.
At the moment their music "Against Bubblegum Youth" is heavily featured in the UK on extended adverts on Channel 4 and E4 for Hollyoaks and Skins. The band started a world tour in April 2008

Who: The Mystery Jets

Where: The Welly Club, Beverley Road, Hull

 

 

Why: The Mystery Jets are back in Hull as they're currently on a massvie tour of the UK tour to promote their new single '2 Doors Down' - Ready for release on 2nd June. See what you think and take a look and their creepy 80's style video on youtube HERE It's rather disturbing but infectious. You've been warned.

Why: After celebrating Hulls best local talent at last Saturday at the Purple Worm Records Album launch, the Welly Club is yet again the host of some spectacular spline spanking live acts, this time, not so local.

This event is perfect for those who weren't quick enough at bagging a Festival Ticket this year or those who just can't wait to get their 'festival hats' out of the wardrobe and start partying early! With some fantastic live acts you'd be mad to miss this 12 hour long party from 3pm till 3am! -Prepare yourself!
