Different Language Terrace Parties have found a new home!
The DJ/Producer twosome from Hull are the hosts of Bank Holiday Sundays biggest Terrace parties at the Lamp but thats all due to change ... Hullvibe investigate further
So, Different Language, We meet again. We've heard you've decided to pick up your Bank Holiday Terrace parties and carry them over to Limelight, is this true?
That's right; we have our farewell party at the Lamp on Sunday 4th May and then we move the parties over to Limelight on Sunday 25th May. It wasn't an easy decision, but we felt to move the party forward it was the best thing to do.
What's up with Lamp? We thought it worked pretty well there, have you fallen out with them?
We have had a fantastic year at the Lamp and hosted some amazing parties. They were original and really took off and with more and more people attending each one, we knew we had something special. Unfortunately with the terrace being a close proximity to the neighboring hotel, the Lamp decided we couldn't carry on outside. We're still very good friends with everyone over at the Lamp and we certainly wouldn't rule out returning there at some point.
Seeing as though Limelight are already one of Deja Vu's pre-party places, are you simply taking over the Pre-Party on a Bank Holiday or will that still run after your Terrace Party?
Our terrace parties have always been a Déjà vu pre-party and we will continue to be. We like to work alongside other promoters, other nights such as Déjà vu and we are all working together to make Hull the place to be on Bank Holiday Sundays. Matthew Thornton (Limelight resident) will continue the Déjà vu pre-party inside from 9pm as usual as we stop the music outside. It'll be sort of a combined pre-party!
What's the Terrace like at Limelight?
The terrace is a nice square size out the back increasing Limelight (inside & outside) to a capacity of around 350 people – perfect for our intimate parties! It's decked out nicely, surrounded by reed screening and will soon home stylish garden furniture, just in time for the summer. The best thing is that it will catch all that summer sun!
Will you be on the Terrace or inside on decks?
Weather permitting and the Temporary events notice going through fine, we should be outside on the terrace. We have found even if we have to bring the party indoors, for example back in March because of the snow, the atmosphere is just as great. Fingers crossed for some hot weather this summer…
Will you be bringing your Moroccan Decor with you?
We will be bringing all our décor to Limelight, stylish drapes and Moroccan lanterns and with us celebrating our first birthday they'll be lots of balloons, streamers and loads of other surprises.
How about Food? - Lamp did some amazing BBQ grub, are you gonna match it?
Limelight has a fantastic caterer available to them for events such as ours. They are running a daytime BBQ especially for us at our terrace party. We will release the BBQ menu shortly along with details of special drink promotions they are going to be having.
The next Bank Holiday is coming up on Sunday 4th, as this will be your last Lamp bash, will you be doing anything different to give it a good send off?
We are really pulling out the stops with our last party at the Lamp as we want to leave on a high! We'll be giving the first 100 people through the door our brand new mix CD which features two of our new tracks. We have got the MASSIVE Richard Seeley coming up to guest for us. His new EP on veryverywrongindeed is getting serious attention from everyone! We also have a surprise special guest joining us… we will reveal the name at the party!
Why do you think it'll work better at Limelight?
The Limelight management are really behind us, they are passionate about our vision and share our goals. Limelight is an exciting new venue and we have some very exciting plans for the future. Working closely with Michael and Matthew at Limelight, we have a serious chance of achieving them.
When's the big launch?
Our opening party down at Limelight is Bank Holiday Sunday 25th May, 2-9pm. Get down early as it's free before 4pm!
Will you be doing anything spesh/different to celebrate the Terrace Party house warming?
We have got a really special line up to kick start proceedings at Limelight. We have Dan Doran returning to play for us once again – a huge favourite of everyone. We have also managed to finally get Danny Lilwall to come across from Birmingham and play for us, his productions have really caught our eye for a while now so we're very, very happy to have him guest.
