Lamp Sat 17th May

Headliners WhiskyCats hail from Manchester. This will be their first ever gig in Hull. They blend neat little indie-pop songs with a twist of latino spice. Sandman liked em, XFM liked em, BBC 6 Music liked em, so maybe you will too. The standard guitar/bass/drums/vocals combo is augmented by sax and trumpet and a smattering of percussion. If you dont dance you must be dead on the inside.

Support comes in the form of Huls own 21st-century boys The Cliques. Their punky sound is a bit New York, a bit New Wave, but not at all New Deal; when they give up their day jobs, it wont be to sit about in their pants all day smoking weed; itll be to do this full-time. Possibly the hardest working band in Hull at the moment.

Saturday night resident DJ Porky will be spinning the platters that matter so as to avoid those awkward silences in between bands. Leave your genres at the door.

For those in need of any further stimulation, VJ eYeSaW will be twatting about with a whole array of digital stuff that nobody really understands. Not even him. The end result is like lying in the gutter but looking at the stars. Whilst off your head on mushrooms.

All this for the meagre sum of £2 on the door.
