i know V bar has been re-opened as epneys, i didnt like it when it was V-bar and because of that old reputaion im scared ill have the same experience,

I (drunkenly) popped in last Saturday for a nosey. Its not bad but its decorated rather tackily (high end wine bar meets gay venue- pink and sparkly with Ikea furniture).
Extremely expensive- 2 single vodka and coke with a drop (and I mean drop) of blackcurrent= £6.80 in rather tight arsed glasses. As for the cliantelle I can only say what I saw of a Saturday night but it wasnt a bad age range, except that it reminded me of the old Ritz club on Holderness Rd- full of divorcees on the pull in their sequins!!!
Music wise- one room of retro dancey stuff, one motown and one with something else that I couldnt place. Not really my cup of tea, Im 25 but I found it to be full of people far older than me who were acting like recycled teenagers and it was all quite embarrasing.
Would like to hear what its like on other nights though?

Epneys is no Club, but its far from a bar.
Open to late every day of the week it offers live music as well as club nights. Free admission all night and cheap drinks. I was also there on saturday night and found nothign wrong, the over 23 policy keeps out a fair few people and the smart attire only helps bring up the image of the venue.
Thursday night is free entry and 1.50 for any driunk that you order, which is a great offer,
also the 3 rooms help people, as you will always find some music that your into.

thursday nights - music - a bit of everything. open from 8pm until late. free entry. all drinks £1.50.
fridays and saturday nights - 4 great rooms. rubix - classic 80s. lush- the best of sexy funk and r n b. route 66- classic 60s n soul. the yard- hulls no.1 premier drinking and smoking area. open from 8pm until very late.
sunday, monday, tuesday. currently closed. watch this space for more great nights.
