It came to my attention when watching 8 mile at the weekend that we have no where in hull that does that sort of thing and it looks awesome! for those who have seen 8 mile, youll know what I mean!
I really think that somewhere in Hull should start hosting battles like that, i reckon itd work really well in somewhere like the adelphi! anyone else think its a good or shit idea?

Cant think of many.
Our Horizon nights are in similar vein but with faster music and not necessarily "Battling" but improvising. I dont like the music that much now but am in awe by the speed they can rap, timing and knowledge of the music so as to know when it goes quiet/loud or vocal.
I dont know that many people in Hull who could actually do it...but i would love to see it (Being an 8mile fan myself)

what about those that MC at tremendous speeds?! do they make it up as they go along? not that you can ever tell what theyre actually saying anyway but its kinda the same thing.
Theres quite a few rappers and ganstaz in and around Hull that i reckon are just hiding because they dont have anywhere to showcase their talent.
Id love to see a night just like 8 mile!

I have heard a few of them and the legnth of time they go on for indicated to me that the majority is made up there and then. Hullvibe have also seen 8 Mile and think its great film. Agree, itd make a great night in Hull so if there are any takers just post on here and Im sure wkd will decide weather its worthy of an actual night.
If all goes ahead Hullvibe will be sure to support it!

ringside ringside, you really are up for anything arent you? i like that about you, at least theres one enue in this city thats up for something new.
after giving it a bit of a ragging in the past, ive backed down now, wkd did this to me with his mention of jaegermeister, then there was talk of slush ... still need to get myself in there though. i will soon

When you do get yourself in, ask the bar staff for me and ill get the jagers in.
