08:00 - 16 April 2008
Bank customers in Hull who took advantage of a cash machine glitch will not be made to re-pay the money, sources told the Mail.
The Mail photographed dozens of people queuing to empty the cash machine, which was dispensing "double money" last month.
It later transpired the machine, outside Sainsbury's Local, in Barham Road, east Hull, had mistakenly been filled with £20 notes where the £10 notes should have been.
Now, reliable sources have told the Mail that Payzone, the owners of the machine, is expected to "write-off" the cash.
Our source, who did not want to be named, said: "Payzone won't be looking to chase those who knowingly took money out of the faulty machine.
"It was just unfortunate for us the worker filled it with the wrong denomination of bank notes. It won't happen again."
Damn, I'm always too late!!!
