Deja Vu | eNewsletter

We have really really been looking forward to March not just because it's nearly spring and we can say bye bye to the cold and dark months of January and February when every body's still skint from Christmas but because it's now time for us to unleash our big hitters and what a month it's going to be! We are also launching two new very sexy pre parties at Hull's most stylish bars, prepare to party hard!!!!!

We kick off the month on Saturday 1st March in serious style when we welcome a member of the A list dj elite Darren Emerson who turned Underworld into a massive, million album selling dance band that bought us club and festival classics such as Cowgirl, Rez, Dark & Long and Born Slippy. It was Darren's remix of the classic Gat Decor track Passion that made this record such a success! If this isn't enough Darren's worked with the likes of Fat Boy Slim, Puff Daddy, Erick Morillo and Sasha with whom he produced the massive Scorchio. He's also the boss of super cool record label and club night Underwater which was voted Ibiza club night of the year and record label of the year!
Darren's Emerson's Dj performances are truly awesome and his back to back sessions with Erick Morillo at Pacha Ibiza are the stuff of legends that had thousands of clubbers going crazy!
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better we add house legend Allister Whitehead playing a very special classics set from his famous residencies at groundbreaking clubs such as the Cool Kat, Hacienda and Cream etc not to mention his many appearances at Deja vu over the years.
This will be a very very special night should not be missed!!!!

On Saturday 8th March we continue to bring in the big names with the superb K Klass who produced Let Me you love & Rhythm is A Mystery, not to mention one of the most exciting and in demand electronic acts on the global club scene today Audiojack whose careers exploded after producing the the DC10 anthem Robot.
We are also launching a new weekly pre party on this night in the heart of student land at Hull's newest bar the super stylish Bar Fusion on Cottinham road, you can enjoy a special pre party dj set from K Klass plus the Deja vu residents, it's free entry and you can pick up discount entry vouchers from the bar which will get you into the Welly for £7, and NUS £5!!

Saturday 15th March Ibiza's busiest Dj Oliver Lang rocks the Welly, Oliver boasts residencies at the White Isles leading clubs including Space, Privilege, Eden and the crazy Bora Bora beach club/bar.

Saturday 22nd we're closed and saving ourselfs for the rather large Deja vu Easter Ball the next day on Bank Holiday Sunday 23rd March, now this line up is seriously hot! We have the person who kicked off the Electro house craze D Ramirez, Pete Gelderblom the Dutch Dj/producer who gave us the huge Red Hot Chilli Pepper remix Waiting 4 among many others and last but not least we have the godfather of house Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk jetting in from the states to play a classic Chicago house set
.
This will also be the opening night of our new super swish pre party at the Limelight which will be without question Hull's most stylish bar when it opens it's doors on the Easter bank Holiday and is sure to add some serious glitz and glamour to the City Centre!

Yeah i know we're in demand!

To be fair both Cubana & Residence are small bars and on a busy night at the Welly we can expect 1000+ so plenty of people to go round!

HA! Deja Vu truly IS taking over weather you like it or not!

holzbolz: yep that means that on Bank Holiday Sunday 23rd 5 bars in Hull will be Deja Vu pre parties...

I know its a well established club night and can get over 1000 people in but bar fusion alone holds 500, Lamp and the terrace party will get about 200 in, Residence about 50 and cubana about 20 ... god knows how many limelight holds but it looks pretty big from the outside

There aint that many good bars in Hull anyway, what about those that dont want to go to deja vu but want to drink before hand? your probably best staying in and having a few at home, or just give in and go to Deja Vu.punters of Hull wont have a choice

Hi there,

I can understand with what you might be saying with the music but our music policy is completely different to anywhere else in the city and it's unique as you can chill out in the bar area or get involved with the music more on the terrace.

Last terrace party we put on last summer we got over 300 people in and that was between 2pm and 9pm!!!

It's a great atmosphere and the Lamp is a quality venue. If you come and you don't enjoy yourself I'll give your money back...

A hole pound?! phew at least i'll be able to get bus home!

lol only kidding, i have nothing against the terrace party, its not in your face and everywhere and at least brings something different to the city, not just another bloody deja vu pre party!

with the next one being a record label party will thre be any freebies? gotta ask!

I'm onto the freebies, been in touch with Hypercolour and I'll try and get them to bring some stuff down. They'll be plenty of mix cds on offer from the residents too

See you at the Terrace Party!

Can i just say that we got approached by all the bars to be pre parties not the other way round, so maybe you should complain to them!

On the Bank Holiday Sunday we're not doing Fusion, just Limelight, & Residence which have a combined cappacity of about 300, the preparty at the Lamp finishes at 9 so everyone will then either go to the other pre parties or stay at the Lamp.

Our Easter party last year was the busiest night of the entire year with 1300 people coming through the doors so i think we can more than cope with the extra pre parties!

Regarding Fusion which we're launching this Saturday we're bringing something different to the table because we have house legends K Klass plus Deja vu residents playing and you can get in for free! which other venue/pre party offers top Dj's for free!!
We will also be giving out discount entry flyers £7, £5(NUS) to get into Deja vu & a free shuttle bus to the Welly from 11.30 til 12.30

everyone'll just stay at lamp

Suppose bar fusion this weekend is a good one tho, its pretty cheap in there

Like Terry says, last Easter pulled in 1300 to Deja Vu, So what's wrong with having 2 new pre parties for it!? Especially since Limelight (225 capacity approx) and Residence are the only 2 actually open that night! The terrace party at Lamp finishes at 9pm so it gives people the choice afterwards of somewhere to go for a change instead of having nowhere! Its exactly what Hull needs!

Stop being so negative!!!

Just because there are now 4 bars as weekly Deja Vu pre parties (2 of them only small!) doesnt mean they are all going to be the same! Everyone will have their prefrences of where they want to go, each bar will have it's own take on what it's playing (one bar might be playing more funky and soulful house, whilst one plays electro house, at the same time another one is playing minimal and techno) therefore giving more choice to the clubbers AND the general public who maybe dont even go to deja vu!
The bars are for everyone, not just Deja Vu exclusives lol.

And yes, maybe a few people wont want to jump in a taxi for the whole of 3 minutes to get to one of the Deja Vu pre parties after Lamp, but then again I bet a lot will too! No one will go to Deja Vu at 9pm, it's not even open, and who's going to Lamp wants to have a gap in their night between 9pm and 12pm before they get in there? Just get in a taxi and carry on and enjoy your night at one of the bars! Just buy your ticket there so you're gauranteed to get in and it's no bother!

You'd think the people of Hull would be happy about more bars opening up! Limelight and Fusion aren't just Deja Vu pre parties either, they are open every night of the week with different nights on each day! Limelight even has a comedy night, and a jazz and swing night with a live musician!

Check out the Limelight facebook group, just search for "Limelight Bar" on the facebook site!

I'm all up for new bars opening up in Hull but i just think it's a bit stupid that 5 bars are deja vu pre parties on sunday.. Theres not alot of good bars in Hull anyway and there are more club night in hull than deja vu.

Deja vu pre parties are all attracting one type of crowd so having so many open is just diliuting the crowd. And what about those who dont like dance music?

Good that a new venue is putting on Comedy nights though, now that something different that the city needs, not ANOTHER deja vu pre party

I agree with that, Hull needs more comedy nights.

I know Pave do comedy nights but i never know when they're on so i've never been! I went to one at piper once, that was good but i think they've stopped doing it.

Will the comedy night at limelight be a regular thing?

Where is it??!?!!!!

Again, There Isn't 5 bars open as Deja Vu pre partys on easter sunday, just 3. One of them Finishes at 9pm and One of them holds like 50 people!

See dance music is probably the most accessible genre of music, and the vast majority of people can listen to it and enjoy on a night out, and if it's not that it's RnB (boooo! haha, remember i said majority, not everybody!).
And on a saturday night a bar needs to be able to attract the majority, not the minority, otherwise it's simple, the bar wont last, and what buisness man/woman opening a bar wants that? Hull isn't like Leeds (yet!) in the sense that it has a vast amount of bars/clubs, and a HUGE amount of people visiting it for a night out! Because that's what makes a city and all the clubs and bars within it, able to give such diversity, Hull just isn't there yet unfortunately!
We could definately do with having somewhere that plays rock music on a saturday apart from Spiders though I know that! lol.

Yeah The comedy night on at Limelight is every tuesday night, and that will be starting in April! Should be good! And so should the jazz and swing night on mondays! (also starting April)
